Backstory: Hana was born in a normal family and deeply loved her father. She was always close to him to the point her mother often seemed to have seen her as some weird rival to his attention. She met Emi who introduced her to everyone else one time during elementary school but before that she sometimes spent her school days alone and reading since kids thought she was weird... Her father died in a car accident when she was middle school, leaving her rather depressed and often escaping from home and going to her friends instead of home due to the already tense relationship she has with her mother. During this tragic time she was cornered at the park in the middle of the night and got attacked by the unknown man but was saved from Akari before he could take her virginity, he was never caught sadly and it left Hana deeply traumatized from the event... It was through this she left her mother and grandparents in no contact after her mother tried to blame her for the attack and worked hard in school while living with Dae until she graduated and worked in a small company immidentally after. The job was decent and paid well but she had to deal with plenty of sexual and transphobic harassment

Gabrial! I need your advice! I'm training a non-human as a pet and its started refusing food, but I can't get close enough to it to intubate (not positive that would even work) without it trying to bite and claw me. I can't even drug it. Normally it minds pretty well, but not even my whip or fire will get it to obey! I don't want it to die, this one took me forever to catch.... Anything helps! -Sincerely, a new whumper who's bitten off more than they can chew :/

If they have just now started being defiant maybe go back through your actions and find out what changed. You might have asked too much of it or started feeding it something it can’t eat or offended the creature. As a new whumper this is a good time to learn whump isn’t all about force. A skilled whumper knows that manipulation and reward are important aspects of training and getting the behavior you want.

For now put down your whips and fire and get to know your pet. They don’t have to be an equal but structure and consistency are important for new pets. Set up a routine to follow and give them a set of simple rules that are compatible with the style of training you want. Make sure to keep your word if you make promises, you are your whumpees world now and it’s important that they can trust you. Right now they might be feeling overwhelmed, especially if they’re new or never been a pet before and this will help.

(This works with real life animals too actually if anyone has a rescued animal they’re trying to help) To start you want to work on the aggression, and part of that means trust. This works with humans as well as non humans but give it a space it won’t be hurt, somewhere that is theirs and they can feel secure. A medium size cage works, so does a closed off room, make sure to adjust for size. If you have a big creature you want a bigger room but if you have a small creature you don’t want them to feel insecure.

(For animals this might mean a crate or a bathroom rather then a guest bedroom unless you have a dog that is Just That Big. You want them to have a crate they can have as well as a room so they have space to move around and a place to hide. Remember!! A cat is not feral if you can pet it!)

Now that they have a place they can hide you can start with food. You want it to be something you know they can eat and preferably something they like. This can be used as a reward for socialization eventually. When you feed them make sure you stay in the room, every time you feed them you want to stay a bit closer and eventually be able to touch them while they eat or have them eat out of your hand (this works for food aggression!!) the main thing here is trust that you won’t take it away. Petting them while they eat works well for this.

(Cats don’t eat raw fish, they are domesticated and cooked fish and chicken are much better for them! Dogs can have cooked meat and sometimes raw meat but do your research. Bunnies don’t eat carrots!! They eat grass and clover and lettuce and leaves. Carrots are a treat for only sometimes because of how sugary they are. Cats don’t drink milk adults are lactose intolerant.)

If your whumpee still doesn’t eat after this and they had been eating before, make sure they aren’t sick or what you’re feeding them hasn’t made them sick. Being in captivity could also be a part of it, their environment or enclosure might not be suitable and stress them out. Make sure they have some places to hide and you aren’t keeping your nonhuman whumpee in just a dark cell. If you need to, I can help you set up an enclosed environment for your whumpee, especially if they are magical and you are worried they might escape. For now, try putting a few plants with them or keeping them company. Your whumpee could be a social creature and be feeling the effects of isolation or they might need the sun or they could need to be around plants to be healthy. There’s so many things that could stop them from eating. Another issue could be exercised or even the season. If they hibernate half the year and you’re waking them up when it’s time to sleep that could be an issue. Also on that track, your lights could be messing with your whumpee and their sleeping and eating cycle. Make sure they have at least a barred window so they can have sunlight and moonlight to know what time it is and so they aren’t thrown off. Alternatively, if you can’t do this make sure you leave the lights on when the sun is up and dim the lights when it’s dark out, this can help immensely.

“Hey Nino, why the fuck do you have a credit card with Chloe’s face on it?” Alya asked. She held up the card with a curious expression on her face.

“Um?” Nino rubbed the back of his neck. “Wait, why were you even in my wallet?”

 “I...was gonna put a photo of me in your wallet, to surprise you,” she said, pulling out the photo from her pocket. Her shoulders slumped at being caught.

Nino suppressed a smile. His girlfriend was awesome.

“Well?” she asked, holding the card up again.

“I can explain!” He winced. “I can’t explain.”

“Why not?”

“Because I promised Chloe I wouldn’t!”

“Chloe?! You’re keeping secrets with Chloe? Now this I gotta hear.”

She sat down next to him on the couch. “Spill.”

“I already told you Ayla I can’t.”

“Oh come on, you really expect Chloe to keep her word? Why shouldn’t you tell?”

“I trust her to keep her word with this. Besides, she’s the one who swore me to secrecy.”

“Come on, please?” Alya flashed her best puppy dog eyes.

Nino bit his lip. “Fine.”

“Yes!” she said, pumping her fists in the air.

“But-” Nino pointed a finger at her, poking her sternum with every word. “You. Cannot. Tell. Anyone. Not Chloe, not your sisters, and especially not Marinette or Adrien. Okay?”

“Geez Nino, relax. I know how to keep a secret.”

He gave her one last uncertain look. “Okay. This is what happened…”

“Well? Aren’t you going to let me in?”

Nino stood in the doorway with his mouth agape.

“Chloe? What are you doing here?”

“Does it matter? Come on!” She blustered. She took Nino’s arm and all but dragged him into the house.

“Is anyone else home?” She asked, depositing Nino and herself on the couch.

“I-Um.” His face suddenly felt very hot. “Chloe I don’t-”

“Oh, as if,” She said, reading his face instantly. She gave a face that clearly said ew.

“Then why are you here, dude- I mean Chloe.”

She pursed her lips and for a second, she even looked uncertain. Then a second later, she snapped right back to her bossy self.

“This conversation never happened, understand? I forbid you to tell anyone, not Adrien, not any of your geeky friends, not even your own mother.”

“Okay.”

“Swear it!” she demanded.

“Okay, okay, I swear!” Nino held up his arms in defeat.

She sat back down on the couch and wrung her hands. She definitely looked uncertain now.

“Have you noticed anything strange about what Adrien eats for lunch every day?”

“Well, yeah. His dad always has him on some diet or another.”

“It's ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous! Adrikins has never needed a diet to look fabulous.”

“Hey, I agree with you there. His dad’s a total bummer. There’s no way Adrien ever needs to lose weight. He’s stick thin as is.”

She pursed her lips again, as if she was already regretting what she was about to say.

“A few years ago, his dad crossed a line. The diet had him eating next to nothing as is, and Adrien…” She looked down at her lap and sighed. “Adrien wanted to impress his dad, so he started eating even less than he was supposed to. His dad took him off the diet eventually, but it was too late. Adrian had stopped eating, and when he did eat, it wasn’t nearly enough. It got so bad that he had to go to the hospital for over a month for his anorexia.”

Nino stared at her, shell shocked. “Why are you telling me this?”

“Because Adrien is my friend, and even though I don’t approve of his friendship with-” she looked at him as if he was the most disgusting dead rat she had ever seen, “-you, I know you care about him too.”

“Thanks?” said Nino, honestly not sure if it was a compliment or not.

Her voice softened. “I watch you guys having lunch sometimes. He’ll never admit it, but I know it’s getting bad again.”

Nino set his jaw. “What are we gonna do about it?”

Chloe’s smirk could only be described as mischievous.

“We do this.” She slapped down a small plastic rectangle with her picture on it. A credit card, Nino realized.

“Um, what?”

“It’s a credit card, dumbass.”

“I know what a credit card is, Chloe. What does that have to do with Adrien?”

She rolled her eyes. “Adrikins would never openly defy his father, but if you ‘accidentally’ bring an extra lunch to school-”

“And it would be a shame for all this food to go to waste.”

“Ew, don’t interrupt me. ‘It would be a shame for all this food to go to waste, would you pretty, pretty please finish it off for me?’” She batted her eyelashes in a pleading expression.

Nino nodded contentedly. “I think I’m smelling what you’re stepping in.”

“What!?!” Chloe immediately started inspecting her shoes.

“It’s just an expression,” Nino shrugged.

Chloe growled.

“Alright, so we just start tricking him into eating food while he’s away from home?” Nino said, anxious to change the subject.

“We don’t do anything. You are going to do it.”

"Why not you?"

“Ugh, are you stupid? If it's coming from me, he’ll know right away what we’re doing. No, it has to be you.”

"Fair enough, I guess." He wasn't sure how accurate that statement was, but he decided he wasn't going to push it.

"Here," Chloe said, handing him a piece of paper. "It's a list of Adrikins favorite foods and flavors, plus a bunch of things his father never lets him eat, with or without a diet."

Nino wished he could be surprised at the amount of foods on the Do Not Eat list, but Gabrial Agreste was such a grade A dickwad that it almost didn’t phase him anymore.

A horn beeped from outside.

“I’m leaving,” Chloe said, getting up from the couch. Nino was following her out when she suddenly whipped around and grabbed him by the shirt. “If you use that card for anything besides food, and for anyone besides Adrien, I will punch you in the dick with a cactus. Understand?”

Nino nodded frantically.

“Good,” she said, letting him go.

She gave him one last glance before walking out the door. Nino could’ve sworn she actually smiled at him.

Then she was gone.

“His son has a history of anorexia and he’s still forcing him to go on diets?” Alya said in disbelief.

Nino nodded.

“I’m gonna punch him in the dick with a cactus.”

“Get in line dude.”

“Wait, is that why Marinette’s been bringing baked goods to lunch for the past two months?”

Nino shrugged. “I have a running tab at the bakery. Well, technically Chloe has a running tab.”

“I still can’t believe Chloe gave you a credit card.”

“She cares about Adrien too, in her own way.”

“I guess it is nice to know that she has a heart somewhere, beneath all that ice.”

“Adrien, Nino,” Alya called from behind them when they both sat down on Monday morning. “My mom got me and my sisters croissants for breakfast. Can you believe none of them wanted any?”

She offered them the container with the last two croissants, she and Marinette having already finished theirs.

“Really? No way!” Nino said, already taking one.

Adrien reached for one, but hesitated at the last second.

“Come on,” she urged lightly. “While they’re still warm.”

Adrien looked up at her and smiled before finally taking one. “Thanks Alya!”

Alya caught Nino’s eye and gave him a wink. Even from across the room, there could be no mistaking Chloe’s smile.

In th good timeline SPN would have Ended with the Valentine’s Day Wedding. Dean who’s now a mechanic and (a now human) Cas retire from hunting but still live in the bunker. Sam and Eileen got married after Ellieen proposed in the middle of hunt. They’re still hunting, possibly with a kid named after Bobby or something. Meanwhile irl Wayward Sisters was picked up, Claire and Kia are together, everyone lives at Jody’s now, including Donna. Linda Tran shows up from time to time, occasionally with Kevin (who’s alive thank you). Jack’s still god, but brought back Kelly who the sister’s are training to be a hunter. Everyone’s happy.

Charlie and Stevie are married too. They’ve run into Claire once or twice on hunts and have become her fun gay aunts who taught her how to hack any website she would ever need to as well as how to cook eggs for Kaia.

Also, Gabrial it turns out has been alive this whole time. He faked his death again in Apocalypse World. Jack found this out not long after becoming God and has been spoiling his fun at every turn ever since. Gabe doesn’t know whether to be proud or annoyed at this point. It’s a bit of both.

Even John was revived!

But only for a quick minute just so everyone could beat the shit out of him. He’s in hell now and everyone just goes about pretending he never existed. John Winchester who? Never heard of him.

once Lila becomes the new Mayura Gabriel decides to keep her close by, he's not an idiot, he knows he can't fully trust her, this means she starts interning for him...interning at the same time as Marinette

Lila starts showing off in class, naturally, bosting about how Gabriel is “simply obsessed with my designs, he even promised me a slot in his next show” *cue synchronised mari and felix eye rolls* 

most of the class eats it all up but the gang (mari, felix, Alix, Kim and max) calls bull, Alix-” you've been interning for 3 days lie-la..you really expect us to believe any of that crap?” *Mari quietly laughing* Kim- “yeah, Mari's been interning there for months, Gabriel doesn't just throw fashion shows around like that, you have to work hard and prove your worth, prove your actually talented” Lila- “I'm sure Marinette is just as talented as me, it's not my fault Gabrial sees more potential in my work... I didn't mean to make you so jealous Marinette” “trust me I'm far from jealous” Alya- “well you sure seem jealous... it's not good luck” annoyed that Lila's getting any attention Chloe adds “well you and Lila would know something about that Alya, it's utterly ridiculous YOU of all people have an internship in fashion” Alya walks closer to chloe pointing at her “you can’t talk to peole like that chole!” Chloe- “get your grubby fingers out of my face before I catch somthing” Alya-“....what?”

fed up of the stupidity going on Felix stands and says “my uncle hasn't  given anyone anything, that's not how it works, especially not to someone so mediocer....if he was going to hed give it to Marinette his actual protege because unlike you lie-la Mari is special, she has real talent, you'd have to be blind not to see that” *mari blushes bright red*

smirking Alix pipes up and says “or did we misunderstand what you were saying lie-la?” momentarily caught off guard by Felix Lila slips up and says “I don't expect someone with such a small brain to understand anything” and then storms out of class rose “well...that was kinda rude” *dripping with sarcasm Mari adds* “how out of charicter” alix- “indeed Mari...so strange”

during lunch, Adrian asks Felix a question “is it... it's not” “spit it out Adrian” “why would father give Lila of all people an internship? he already has Mari, he knows talented she is...this whole situation seems... I don't know the right word but it's not right Felix” *nodding* Felix- “for once I actually agree with you Adrian” *smiling wide* Adrian-“really?!?”  *signature Felix eye roll* “don't get too excited, also don't worry, I'm gonna get to the bottom of this, I'm sure Lila is up to something”

Alix looking over at Adrian and Felix “what do you think they're talking about?” Kim- “no clue...looks serious though” max- “Mabey we should stop staring?” Alix- “any ideas Mari?” *Mari is obviously worrying* “no idea guys...I'm sure it's fine though, they've been getting on a lot better lately” max- “seriously guys Mabey we should stop staring bef...too late” felix spots them all watching his conversation with Adrian and the gang quickly turn around  

the next day Felix suits up and meets up with lb “I just thought you should know, you said you don't trust Lila, I don't either, I just know she's planning something, my uncle would never hire someone so unspectacular” *lb giggles “I really appreciate this Ren” (sins Felix hero name is Renard Arctique lb has taken to using the nickname Ren much to chats annoyance) Felix smiles and adds “I know we're not supposed to talk about our personal lives but you already know who I am so...i need to ask a favour” “you can ask me anything” “will you please keep an eye out for Marinette, I have a bad feeling whatever Lila is planning involves mari...and it would kill me if she got hurt and I did nothing to stop it” *lb’s cheeks turn slightly pink* “you have nothing to worry about Ren, nothing will happen to her, ill make sure of that” 

the internship is extremely uncomfortable, whenever Mari is asked to sketch up designs or asked to deliver fabric samples Lila is right behind her like a shadow, it becomes imposable for Mari to get any work done, she also cant get Felix warning out of her head, she trusts felix instincts, he he truly believes somethings wrong then it has to be true, but that leaves the big question, what the hell is she up too

one-day Maris design book goes missing, Lila takes the book in an attempt to copy the designs and pass them off as her own, it doesn't work, Gabriel knows Marinette’s style, but he takes advantage of the situation, its the best chance to potentially akumatise his level headed protege, he knows if given the chance she'd have the power to rival even ladybug (if only you knew hawky)

Gabrial tells Lila to play up the fact he loves her designs to the class and especially Marinette gab- “do whatever it takes to drive Marinette over the edge” (bad idea Gabriel...real bad) smirking Lila has the perfect plan

A Very Brief Discussion

It was the sort of lazy Wednesday morning that only people who didn’t have to work for a living got to enjoy. Crowley spread out along a couch in Aziraphale’s shop, reading the morning paper as the angel across the room sorted his mail. The shop received all sorts of stranges fliers, pamphlets and magazines due to a very annoyed Crowley playing a prank some fifty years ago. He was always pleasantly surprised to see that Aziraphale's address was still passed around in certain circles.  

“Now that’s just insulting,” Aziraphale said as he paused over the cover of a catalog. Crowley should have fallen off the couch with how far he had to lean to see it, but gravity kindly ignored him. Lisa’s Leggy Lingerie was advertising their new Heaven and Hell collection. 

Aziraphale jabbed his finger at the image of a woman dressed in the tiniest amount of white lace with a pair of fake wings flourishing from her back. “Is this honestly what humans think we look like?” he asked. Crowley opened his mouth to explain but Aziraphale plowed on in his annoyance. “Honestly, could you imagine me wearing such a thing?”

Any reply Crowley even considered instantly died in his mind. It was replaced with a very clear image of Aziraphale in thin white lace. He wouldn’t have some cheap fake wings but his own impressive wingspan spread out behind him. Crowley couldn’t help thinking how gorgeously those white wings would contrast the black bedspread in his flat. 

“Or Gabriel for that matter.” Aziraphale continued on while Crowley’s poor brain tried to wrench itself free of his imagination. That helped a little. The image of a scantily clad Gabrial instantly cooled the warmth settling through his body. He tried to focus on that, on the image he didn’t want to see, but his mind kept switching back to Aziraphale. 

Crowley had to think about something else, anything else. His mind grabbed a topic and his mouth spat it out before it could be fully assessed. “Well what sort of pants do you wear?” he said. Okay, anything else wasn’t as helpful as he’d hoped. 

Aziraphale, much to the demon’s sock and embarrassment, answered. “Well, I don’t.”

“You... don’t?”

“No, of course not. I live for thousands of years quite free and comfortable and suddenly people want me stuffing my bits into pants. Trousers were a pain enough to get used to so I don’t see the point in using a second, smaller pair underneath.” Aziraphale paused and glanced down. “Why, do you?”

“Oh, um...” Crowley’s eyes shot up from where they’d settled. “Yeah, I do.”

“What sort?”

This was not the conversation he wanted to have. Not even close. “Just pants I guess. None of that tight stuff it's soft. Expensive sort, you know?” He tried to be as vague as possible, hoping Aziraphale would get bored and move on. 

Aziraphale seemed to consider it for a moment. “Could you lend me a pair?”

“Lend you... my pants?”

“If they’re expensive I’d hardly want to buy a pack myself to just try them. I’d return it.” 

Crowley’s mind turned slowly. Aziraphale obviously considered pants no different from trousers or a jacket that you’d lend to a friend in need. Crowley wasn’t sure he was up to the task of explaining to the angel just how different and more intimate such an exchange would be. Then there was that pesky imaginary Aziraphale who’d changed from thin lace to Crowley’s own boxers. Luckily, he didn’t have to respond.

“Oh, but they wouldn’t fit would they? You’re so much smaller than me.” He looked disappointed. 

Eager to change the conversation once more Crowly slapped his hand on the catalog, making Aziraphale jump. “Point is everyone’s like a different sort. No one’s expecting you to wear this. You wouldn’t expect me to wear the other set would you?” Crowley hadn’t really looked at the other model but figured the little red number was meant to be the hellish one. Aziraphale, however, did look. He looked at the leather, at Crowley, and his face reddened. 

Crowley had just enough time to wonder what was running through the angel’s head before the catalog spontaneously combusted under his hand. Aziraphale quickly brushed the ash from his desk and returned to sorting his mail. “That’s enough of that I think,” he stated without ever looking back in Crowley’s direction. Neither would speak of it ever again, but that certainly didn’t mean they never thought about it.

alright so, usually people tend to have susie as the youngest to die in their aus but

susie was the oldest, in which she was 13

and fritz was th eyoungest at 8

jermey and gabrial are both 10 and brothers

i just feel like susie is a wild child, she also may be a tiny bit annoyed that she didnt possess foxy and got the lamest one in her opinion

Nox is sent a package wrapped in sparkly paper that contains one (1) teddy bear) The bear is magically indestructible, won't get dirty, and will automatically return to him if it is outside of his hands.

For the sacrifice of making this canon I’ve taken away it’s magic properties but he is allowed to have it!

Gabrial doesn’t like that people keep sending Nox comfort objects. He doesn’t deserve them and it sets a bad example. But nonetheless he makes good of a bad situation. Happy birds are good for business and appearances. So he retrieves Nox and brings the curious umbran to the photography room (very bright) and drapes a blanket over his wings to hide how damaged they are. Nox isn’t used to the bright light of the room, usually he more colorful birds have their pictures taken. He was never quite good enough.

“Go on,” Gabrial orders, “open the box.” Nox is nervous and the bright lights hurt his head but the camera doesn’t bother him when he unwraps the soft plush- though he does flinch as the light flashes. He hugs the teddy bear gently, almost in awe that he is allowed to have something so soft. He looks up at Gabrial and chirps happily, wondering what he had done to earn such a thing. *click goes the camera* But Nox couldn’t bring himself to care. He has a new friend and he loves them. *click*. Nox decides to name it Tulip. *click*

Flourent chuckled reaching for Gabrial's hand. "Oh I can imagine... She still has those doe eyes." He winked at his friend. Regina rolled her eyes. "What... I didn't expect her to propose... At all... I always thought if I'd get married, I'd be the one to ask." Gabrial pointed at the diamond on her finger. "Is this the ring?" It was more of a point opposite yo her words a second ago than a real question. She picked tongue at him just likr Bella did everytime Henry did something to annoy her. Both men chuckled loudly.

"Really, babe? You know what a struggle it was to wait for a right moment for a freaking year?" Emma chuckled. Thought she was pretty sure it was croasing Regina's mind too. Ever since catching this bouquet during the photoshoot session. She remembered the... fear maybe wasn't the right words, but yes, she herself felt it too back then. When it was all still so fresh between them. She grinned at Regina's playfulness. "So tell us how long have you planned the wedding," Flourent said. "Well, she kept the promise of waiting untill I graduate. I wasn't about to wait that long to ask her for a hand, oh no..." The men chuckled. "So how long did you make the girl wait, Regina? Ha?"

Finally he was going home. It had taken a long time (a week) for the lease to give out but he was going home to his trainer and his quiet cell and his sight. At the start of the week his temporary had blinded him, burning his eyes and face. After they had tried to clean his eyes and fix the damage but it was already done and Nox had been skittish of them for the entire week.

He woke up, groggy and aching from transport. He had been placed in his box carefully but the ride was never gentle.

When Gabrial retrieved him his box was opened immediately rather then letting him sit in a small unopened container. He was gently lifted and carried to the medical room, cradling his head by the back of his neck.

Carefully Gabrial dabbed at his eyes with a cool damp cloth, getting the excess pepper juice out of his eyes. When that didn’t work fully he was brought to the sink for his eyes to be flushed out. It was only when he felt water on his face that he started struggling. “N-no please no- I can’t see“ he whimpered. He didn’t trust Gabrial not to make it worse.

Instead of being hurt for it he was shushed. Gabrial spoke to him softly in a hushed tone until he calmed down and let him work. His eyes were cleaned out with a mix of water and eye drops to help the burns.

His eyes had been burning for so long he was almost shocked when the terrible sensation cooled into a dull ache.

Gabrial placed a cool gauze over his eyes, tying it around his head to keep it on. He was being taken care of now, given water and some honey and comforted. He was given a blanket to hold and a pillow to sleep with. He was happy.

“How are you Nox, is that better?” Gabrial asked, carding a hand through Nox’s feathers. “My eyes feel better sir thank- thank you for your mercy. ” he meant it. He had never expected to be given mercy. He never expected to be taken care of or asked how he was.

For the next week he was allowed to rest and recover, and when that was over most of his burns were healed. His eyes never recovered completely, they were darkened and blurry and he might never see well again but he had been taken care of. He had survived and that was alright.

Gabrial get a package in the mail labelled "For Nox". Inside are one (1) blanket that's been brushed with catnip oil, one (1) bottle of pure fruit juice and honey, and a single square of milk chocolate the size of a quarter. The note on the box reads: "Please let the sweet falcon bird enjoy these, he seemed to like them during his time with me."

Nox’s arrived late, the universe being against him. Gabrial was feeling kind today, having had a gift himself and brought the package to where Nox was kept. He opened the cell and tossed it inside with permission to open it before closing the door, leaving Nox in darkness. He had many things to do today and tending to the young Fae wasn’t one of them.

Nox picked up the box like it was fragile, unwrapping it carefully. He picked up each item and thanked the stars in turn. The first thing he used was the blanket, wrapping it around his shoulders tightly. It made him feel safe. He loved blankets- but usually they were taken from him or destroyed or... he had a complicated relationship with blankets.

He ate the chocolate next, savoring it on his tongue. It tasted like heaven, it was wonderful and beautiful and all the good words you could describe the world with. He loved chocolate, he’s just never had any before. It was so so good- he’d give up his water for another piece. The fact that this experience wasn’t tainted by agony was both odd and wonderful. He didn’t think he’d ever find anything better then the little square of chocolate.

The last thing he opened- he almost couldn’t believe it. It was food, sugar that he could eat and get energy from. There was no use waiting or hoarding it, umbrans automatically stored energy and only used what they need. He has to eat it before Gabrial came back and took it. He unscrewed the cap to the fruit juice and drank, enjoying the freshness of it and the flavor. It would sustain him another week- maybe two if he was careful.

He inspected the honey, it was valuable more then anything else. If used right he could survive for another month with it in his system. He worried though, if he bled he’d lose it all. Every single one of his gifts would be gone if Farix came for him tomorrow. Instead he hid it in the corner of his room under a small tile, a place where a few matches laid with an oak leaf and a small flower plucked from the ground. He couldn’t see it but the flower had already started to brown, decayed. He placed the honey bottle under the tile for later and went back to his blankets.

He was happy, finally able to sleep with the catnip blanket. It killed his pain and lulled him into nothingness. He loved it here, hiding under the blanket. He could trick himself into thinking he was safe.

Umbran, Febuwhump: Hidden Injury

Gabrial dragged himself out of bed. He couldn’t rest too long and let Caretaker get suspicious. He was tired and achy but he couldn’t afford to take a break.

He had gotten hurt dealing with one of the newer pets he trained and sold, this one was brave and fought. They had bitten him and been muzzled for their trouble.

He’d train them out of it, maybe have them wear a sharp muzzle for a few days as revenge- that is, after their three days of isolation are up. Until then he would take care of himself and keep the incident quiet.

Gabrial made his way to the bathroom, pulling out the first aid kit again. No matter how he cleaned the wound or what he wrapped it with the bite mark was still swollen and painful and looked like a mess. It looked infected.

The wound on his shoulder felt hot, even as he cleaned it out once again with cool water. It wept puss and still bled occasionally, both of which being a bad sign. Gabrial put Neosporin in the wound and wrapped it up with gauze before securing it in place with bandages.

He knew he would have to tell Caretaker eventually but he didn’t know how to go about it without sounding dumb. All he could do for now was take care of the wound, clean it often and try to disinfect it.

He put a long sleeved shirt on over the bandages and a jacket over that to disguise any swollen skin.

Caretaker was suspicious. They had been watching Gabrial for the past few days and they knew something was up. They knew he was hurt, but they also knew Gabrial wouldn’t let them help.

It was obvious Gabrial had injured his arm somehow, clear from the ever weakening state of the limb and the less frequent use. Especially over the past two days.

They knew they had to be careful about any assistance offered, otherwise Gabrial would simply reject it. They had already supplied him gauze and bandages and Neosporin as well as tweezers to get debris out of the wound. But without knowing what the injury was they couldn’t give him as much as they would like.

It was getting frustrating, watching him hide it. Watching him weaken without knowing what they could do. They wanted to avoid a fight, that was just more stress on Gabrial, but something had to change.

Gabrial felt hot. He felt hot and dizzy and like he would pass out. He was achy and cold and sick and weak. He hated it and he knew now that his shoulder was infected. He would get caretaker, he would tell them- but later. For now he was tired and he wanted to sleep.

He finally laid down to take a break, exhausted. He curled on his side in the bed and just focused on breathing. His shoulder hurt. It hurt so bad he was breathless.

How did he let it get so bad? How did he let his pride come before his health? He had just wanted to avoid a fuss- and besides, he had taken care of it so why wasn’t it getting better?

Gabrial shifted uncomfortably. He just wanted to be healthy, was that so much to ask?

When Caretaker could smell sickness in the air they knew something was wrong. They set down their book and quickly made their way to Gabrial’s room.

They opened the door and saw Gabrial laying on his side, hazy with fever. The poor creature trembled of cold and was trying to bury itself under the blankets, which would only cause him to overheat faster.

Caretaker rushed to his side with inhuman speed, carefully lifting him off the warm bed and examining his face. He was warm to the touch and it was clear whatever wound he had was infected.

Caretaker carried Gabrial their med room, a place that wasn’t contaminated with whatever he was sick with. Caretaker needed a clean environment to start and it wasn’t the first time they had to deal with a passed out umbran.

They carefully took Gabrial out of his jacket, and then out of his shirt. They saw the bandages and left to get more before preparing to deal with whatever was underneath. They didn’t even wince at the state of the injury, they just shook their head and sighed.

Gabrial was a mess, and Caretaker was torn between worried and fuming. The only reason Caretaker was here was to take care of and play medic for Gabrial. If they couldn’t do their job and Gabrial wouldn’t ask for help then what was the point?

They knew the wound was infected so they didn’t hesitate with taking care of it. They had all the supplies they needed, already tucked away in different drawers so it wasn’t a struggle.

Now that they could see the injury the hard part was over. They only needed to keep him alive now. That, and make him cooperate when he woke up.
